Wanted militant came with ex-Pak PM for talksJul 11, 2007
To persuade Abdul Rashid Ghazi of Lal Masjid to give up before troops stormed the mosque, a terrorist, Fazalur Rehman Khalil who figures in India’s list of most wanted terrorists, was roped in by Pakistani authorities.
Journalists saw Khalil, head of the outlawed Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, driving into the mosque complex in the same car as leader of the negotiating team, former Prime Minister Shujaat Hussain. Khalil smiled when the media noticed him sitting in Shujaat Hussain’s vehicle.
